Description
Located in the Pays de la Loire, on the Atlantic coast, the municipality of Guérande is known for its first-class salt. It is also home to Le Paludier de Guérande's local 'Guérande salt', or 'sel de Guérande' in French. After manual collection, the salt is first drained in the sun and then dried in ancient seawater pools. Naturally, gray salt has no additives at all. It gets its gray color and high mineral content from salt marshes resting on gray clay mattresses.
