Frantoio D'Orazion Vermiglio – Apulian extra virgin olive oil from Conversano. Multivarietal blend (Olivastro, Coratina, Leccino…), lightly fruity, with hints of grass, oregano and fresh almond. Ideal for finishing. 500 ml.
Description
Frantoio D'Orazio is an Apulian family farm from Conversano, in the province of Bari in southern Italy. The farm is known for its top-quality extra virgin olive oils, made from olives hand-picked from its own olive trees.
Vermiglio is part of D'Orazio's "Opera" series, a tribute to the culinary tradition of Apulia - the glowing cinnabar red color of the bottle refers to the flames of the fireplace and the warmth of hospitality. The oil is a skillful blend of local olive varieties: Olivastro takes the lead, complemented by Coratina, Leccino, Cima di Mola, Cima di Melfi, Nociara, Simona and Picholine.
The taste is lightly fruity, with herbal notes of freshly cut grass, oregano and fresh almonds. The bitterness and pepperiness are subtly balanced – the oil is distinctive but never overpowering. This is precisely why many chefs appreciate it: it enhances the flavour of food without overpowering it.
Ideal finishing oil for salads, soups, grilled vegetables and fish. 500 ml. Origin Puglia, Italy.
