Description
Oro del Desierto Lechín is a limited production organic extra virgin olive oil made exclusively from the rare Lechín de Granada variety. The oil is cold pressed (2-stage extraction) from olives harvested early, half of which are still green at the time of harvest. This ensures an exceptionally high polyphenol content (350-600 mg/kg) and a long shelf life.
The olive trees grow on three farms in the Tabernas desert (Almería, Andalusia): El Vicario, Sierra Bermeja and Cortijillo de las Pencas. The age of the trees varies between 80 and 250 years. The farm is run entirely organically with renewable energy.
