Morelli conchiglioni are large, shell-shaped pasta from Tuscany. The bronze-molded surface holds the sauce – perfect for stuffing and baking. Family business since 1860.
Description
Antico Pastificio Morelli is a Tuscan family business that has been making pasta in San Romano since 1860 – now in its fifth generation. Morelli is known for its slow drying, bronze molds and traditional recipes without preservatives or colorings.
Conchiglioni – ”large clam shells” – are a showy pasta, their ribbed surface and large size making them perfect for stuffing. The classic is ricotta and spinach filling in tomato sauce and baked in the oven au gratin, but the shells also work well with meaty ragu and seafood sauces – the sauce stays beautifully inside the shell.
